So here we really see Null come into the world with a bang. I could definitely see some aspects of that opening sequence from Mewtwo Strikes Back here, although with more of a magical witch doctor-y bent than a heavy sci-fi one, as is appropriate for a more low tech PMD setting. I wonder if Golem's use of alchemy is something you're going to explore later on, because that's something we haven't really seen in the fic yet, or even seen referenced, and it doesn't appear that there are any special pre-requisites to using it, aside from rigorous study. But if it's just going to be the handwave-y explanation of how Golem Frankensteined a new pokemon into existence, that works too. On the other hand, I do hope we get a little more info about how the whole life force and spirit world thing work at some point, because that's been mentioned a few times lately and it sort of sticks out to me every time. It's not like it's something that stands out to me as a plot hole or whatever, and I have a general nebulous sense of what the characters are talking about because I've read a lot of fantasy and manga, and it seems to take its notes from all of that. But I'm a slut for functional magic and I like knowing as many details as I can about how a magic system (or magical location, or supernatural property, etc.) in a setting as I can ^^;
Anywaaaay, Golem is a pretty colorful character who, like a lot of the members of your minor cast, manages to make a strong impression with very little "screen time" (actually, in this case, screen time is a pretty accurate term, in a metatextual sense...). The found-footage narrative of Null's creation works pretty well, and incorporating a Porygon2 as the camera and projector is a good loophole for the low tech nature of Horizon. Considering the amount of nods GL has to other franchises, Sonic specifically, I wasn't sure if Golem was a stand-in/homage to Dr. Eggman? I don't know too much about the guy, but from what I've gleaned second-hand is that he's a mad scientist who's got the same sort of bombastic bravado and confidence in their own genius that Golem has... plus they have the same kind of body type and mustache.
I was trying to figure out exactly how old Null was based on this, and I can't really figure out when his creation takes place. There's really nothing to preclude him having been in some kind of magical stasis for years (Decades? Centuries?), so maybe it doesn't matter, but I think it might be relevant to know exactly how long the winged heart organization has been active, or perhaps inactive. There's mention of Golem being driven to create Null because of Dark Matter, but having not played Super I don't actually know if that was Dark Matter's second coming after previously appearing way back in the past, or if this footage is from comparatively recently in the world's history. It seems pretty clear that Prisma/the Prism Virus has co-opted the winged heart symbol, or maybe reclaimed it from Golem's use, because it doesn't seem like it's explicitly connected to Necrozma in this context. Golem never refers to Necrozma by name, and he seems a little shaky on the details of how Necrozma appeared, leading me to believe that this is significantly past the time in prehistory that Nicky arrived in this world, long enough for Necrozma to have been lost to myth. It also makes me think that Shane's dream visions of Solgaleo and Lunala are a lot older than we were previously lead to believe, and the events of the Stargazing extra weren't all happening at the same time.
As a final note, it seems like Tessa hasn't had much to do lately, and her involvement in the story is just to air her emotional baggage every few paragraphs. Part of that is probably because she's been through an emotional wringer lately, and another part is because she's in the dark about a few major plot points that her teammates are keeping from her for her own good, and that means she sort of has to be on the outskirts of events/discussion relating to those things. But there's still the fact that she hasn't really had anything to do lately, aside from throwing around a few force palms in group action scenes, and she spends most of her time fretting about Null. It seems like most of her dialogue tags are cries, whines, gasps, etc., and most of them relate to Null taking hits. Sure, Null's her friend and she's concerned about him, but I keep thinking that of all the people on Team Radiance (heck, out of everyone in the Guild, probably), if anyone can take a beating and come back up swinging, it's probably Null.
I've seen some of the other excerpts you've posted from further down the line, and it seems like Tessa outgrows this eventually and grows into a little more confidence and self-assuredness, so I'm not too worried, and honestly what I'm reading now has been already written for a while. But at the beginning of the fic, Tessa was the one who kept a level head in a crisis and came up with solid, practical plans while Shane got his butt kicked. Now that Shane has more or less found his footing in Horizon and can start taking charge of battles on his own, it seems like Tessa has more and more been relegated to the sidelines while Shane and Null take the spotlight with their flashier attacks.
