Thought this might be a fun way for people who are unfamiliar with each other to get to know each other, as I am definitely in the category of not knowing many people in this community. That being said, tell a bit about yourself? Who are you, where are you, what are you doing with your life, notable things you have written, etc.? I'm Manchee, not my real name, and if anyone knows it feel free to use it, lol. I live in Pennsylvania and am currently in grad school, so I work almost all day every day and then have class in the evenings. I've been a fan of both writing and Pokémon my entire life, and while I'm not going to school to become a professional writer, if I happen to have a big break and not have to devote all of my time to working as a university administrator for the rest of my life, I won't complain. In terms of writing, the biggest piece of fan fiction that I've ever written was posted almost ten years ago, titled The Sapphire Story. It was a retelling of the R/S/E games with a bit of Sinnoh legendary supernaturalness thrown into the mix. Came close to finishing it while I was in high school, but then I started my undergrad at university and never got around to it. Currently working on a few fan fic ideas, larger-scale projects that I'm taking one piece at a time, hopefully. I've also been working on a novel series idea for at least ten years now involving people who can control the elements. It's gone through so many reboots and revisions that it's become a huge project that I'm essentially putting off until I'm entirely done school. Also, I wrote a gay vampire crime novel last year for NaNo that was super fun, completely by the seat of my pants, and something I might do something with when I've got more time on my hands. Alight, I'll stop there. Looking forward to (hopefully) get to know some of you better! By all means, tell as much or as little as you want

You know, I really like this idea for a thread. And the name. It's a good name.
That being said, hey all, I'm Phalanx! Same as Manchee, not my real name (duh). I'm from the Chicago area, but right now, I'm getting a Master's degree in Classics at Cambridge, and hopefully I'll be doing my PhD in Ancient History somewhere back in the States (nothing against England, I just heard that more than likely I won't be accepted back). I've been a fan of Pokémon since I was 6, I think, and other than a lull in between Platinum and HGSS (much of it caused by me forcing myself to go cold turkey because it was actually ruining my social live in a not so subtle way), I've been with it ever since.
As for writing, I only got into it through Pokémon fanfic, believe it or not. First thing I ever wrote was a little germ of an idea called Pokémon: Convergence. Sort of a PMD, lots of planned dimension-hopping inspired by Bioshock: Infinite, it was interesting. But then I lost motivation to work on it, and THEN I realized that the main character had no arc, and it was promptly scrapped after 6 chapters. Similar story with a journey-fic I was working on called Pokémon: Talking Points, which died after only a single chapter. However, nowadays I've found a couple of ideas that work for me in Ionization, a journey-fic in Sinnoh that has one of the most interesting characters (to me) that I've ever written, and The Pantheon, a collection of short stories based on ancient history, mythology, and folklore of different cultures with a Pokémon twist. Got a couple more ideas, but those can wait until I have a little more time on my hands.

Sounds like a cool way to do an ice breaker!
Hey, I'm Bay! I'm living in California which means I don't know how winter season feels like, lol. Education and career wise I got a Bachelors in Business Administration and at the moment the place I'm working now I do the typical receptionist duties. My start with Pokemon began with the anime and card games, and then I started with Sapphire.
With writing, my first Pokemon fic was "Heart of the Sea", a Pokemonized version of Ernest Hemingway's "Old Man and the Sea." Another project I did more people probably would remember was "Nothing, Everything", a Pokemonized version of "The Da Vinci Code." I then focused on writing for other fandoms for a while, mainly Fullmetal Alchemist and Bravely Default. I did a few Pokemon short stories in between, but it wasn't until Sun/Moon's release that I went ahead with my current project "Foul Play" where I have two dark type specialists Grimsley and Nanu meet and become bros. I have other ideas I want to do once I make more progress with Foul Play.

Didn't see this until now, but yes! An icebreaker sounds like a great idea!
I'm Knightfall (though a fair number of you know my actual name), living in that weird part of the US called Florida (like Bay, I also do not know this "winter"). I'm focusing on my Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering and currently working in a lab that deals with bugs all day. Got my introduction to Pokemon first through the anime (only a few old episodes, followed by the first movie). A few years later, I got FireRed and, down the line, Red Rescue Team, which began my love of PMD.
I got my start with writing after realizing I liked thinking up stories themed around PMD. Upon getting a phone that could access the internet, I stumbled across a couple of Pokemon fanfics and I realized that people write down the stories in their head and other people like reading them. It was quite the concept to younger me. And such, I immediately began scribbling down the first chapters of what would become PMD: Overthrown and its successor Dissolution in a series of notebooks. Upon getting a laptop, I began writing my chapters and posted 18 chapters for the story, and many chapters for other projects, such as Transcending the Abyss with Pokenutter and Operation Saltus Valley. After a short hiatus of 4 years, here I am, rebooting the story that, at its core, is the same one that took shape roughly 8 years ago. Eventually, I have plans to continue O:SV and TtA as well.
Knightfall signing off!

Yeah, this looks like a neat little activity. I'll join in as well.
I'm Vragon (Vray-gun mind you) and yeah, that's not my real name (shocker). I live in the odd state of South Carolina, but I'm currently going to school in Oklahoma. I'm going for my Bachelors in computer science and hopefully will become a programmer/software engineer/code breaker as a profession. So I had always watched the anime when I was young, but never really got a game till around Gen 4 when I finally got a mobile console (being the DS Lite). My first ever Pokémon game was Soul Silver followed by Pearl then Platinum (my favorite of that Gen). Then Gen 5 came along and I become more of a fan (it being the first time I could get hyped for a Pokémon game after all)
Now my bits in fanfiction didn't find paper till around 18, even though I dreamt up stories since 12. The idea was more or less just building more adventures for my team in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky and I never really thought about writing it till I started enjoying webcomics/fanfics online. I decided to dream up ideas for PMD stuff and put them into a series called "PMD the series". Course, it wasn't till encountering a certain webcomic that I began to see the more flexibility aspects of fanfic writing and slowly, but surely, shattered crests began to form. I've enjoyed dreaming up these stories and tweaking their plots in my head. Finally about 2 years ago I put up my first one on a forum (that being PMD the series #6 Distortion). While wasn't well made at first, the feedback for it and the ones I put on later have been very beneficial, turning me form an instant writer to an editing/processing writer. It is still in progress, but I've also worked on two others (the before mentioned Shattered Crests and PMD the Series #2 Gates to Infinity). It wasn't till Gates that I started to get into the World Building aspects and use elements from the games (both versions and Mystery Dungeon)/anime/manga as well as work on some original mechanics. Overall, I enjoy doing this hobby and can't wait to delve deeper into making these stories.

I'm eldestoyster, or eldest-oyster, or eldest Oyster, depending on how many permutations of it I have to go through when registering on a site before I find a version that nobody else has claimed yet. I live in West Sussex, specifically across the road from the sea, and make e-learning software for local authorities, which is absolutely not something my English degree qualifies me to do, but nobody has complained yet.
More interesting stuff: I've been writing since I learned how, which is to say a while at this point; I didn't get into Pokémon till I was in my teens, and didn't get into fic until a few years after that, when I realised it was a thing and that I would enjoy writing it. It took me a little longer to realise that that would probably mean I'd enjoy reading it, too. For a while I dabbled in fanart as well, but that didn't stick. I've written a lot of different things, across a range of genres, but over the last few years a pattern has started to emerge: original novels or fanfic, I generally write character-driven drama about monsters, power, mental illness, and trans women. Right now, I'm writing Ghost Town, which is about all of those things and also what to do if your best friend is trapped inside a magic rock. As for notable things I've written already -- the only memorable one is probably Go Home, which I'll port over here at some point, though I guess Arbitrary Execution and A Leash of Foxes are okay, too. I look forward to delving into your fics, as and when I get the chance!

This is the closest I can find to a introduction thread so...best better post here rather than just be a fic churning phantom.
I'm Zephyr! Working web developer at a small company and loves JRPGs more than he should.
I go into fic writing during my middle school years and kept trying to improve from there. It was...not a graceful start but I eventually got to a point where I am much more comfortable with sharing my work. As for Pokemon fics I have done, there is my adaptions of games, inspired by the Nuzlocke comic phenomenon but it was at a point where I started to realize I'm more a writer than an artist. The ones I'm most proud of are Monochrome Smiles, based on BW, and Heart and Soul, based on HGSS.

I'm DynaDratina, also known as Mrs. Lovett. You can call me either, or just Dyna for simplicity.
I've been writing Pokemon fanfiction and fanfiction in general since I was a teenager, though Pokemon is the fandom I've written the most in. I guess it's because it satisfies my worldbuilding urges and provides lots of room for canon reinterpretation. I'm graduating with my Bachelor's in Philosophy and Linguistics, and applying for grad school so I can do more academic writing, hooray!
My main inspiration comes from the games, particularly 3rd and 4th gen, because they're the ones I've played and know best. I still enjoy a good fic about the newer ones, though.
Writing-wise, I'm currently revising my fic called Roots, which is about Professor Rowan's childhood taking place in 1960's Sinnoh. It's probably the one project I've spent the most time on and I really want to give it a conclusion it deserves. I'm also working on other Pokemon and Non-Pokemon fics, all of which I've resolved to finish, whatever it takes.

Hello, I'm Cupcake, but you can also call me Amethyst. I seldom do the writing thing anymore, but I enjoy reading other's work just as much as writing my own. I've tried writing a few different Nuzlocke stories, but never finished any of them for various reasons, though primarily lack of motivation. While I primarily plan to lurk and read the work of all you wonderful people, perhaps I may post stuff of my own in the future.

Hi! By all means, call me by any variation of my screen name that you feel comfortable with; it is a bit of a mouthful.
I used to be a lurker on forums for years, and an amateur-ish unnofficial Nuzlocker, but I've started my first run a couple of months ago somewhere else and intend to do more in the future. For now, I mostly do written logs, but I dream of writing an actual screenshot-story run, plot and all. Aside from Pokémon, I have an abridged fic of Majora's Mask, but it's on a very long hiatus.
I'm sometimes unhealthily addicted to Pokémon, English is not my first language, and my favorite gen/game/'mon are Gen 3, B2/W2, and Mewtwo respectively.
Looking forward to help this place grow, see some art, and show my own!

Hey, I'm Phantom! I've tried my hand at doing comics and screenshot nuzlocke runs but mostly I love to read them.
I'm a teacher and an amateur artist. I've loved pokemon most of my life and always find my way back to it. I'll likely be a lurker and occasional commenter but hopefully I'll post some of my own stories here one day!

I'm Roule. I live in Philadelphia as an art student, and I've been unemployed for several months now after I left my zoo job. Right now, I flit between working on homework, making myself look like a fool in the Overwatch esports scene, and writing when those two things leave me spare time.
I've been writing for as long as I could put my tiny fingers around a pencil and write down chicken-scratch onto paper, and most of it was pokemon fanfiction. However, it wasn't until I was a bored sixteen-year-old, that I actually decided to publish my work, and it turned out that people actually liked it. Nice to meet you all!

I've just signed up and I though this was about as fitting as it could be for an introduction thread or something, so I'm here.
I'm Venia, real name [▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇]. I'm from Chile which is about in the top 5 ten countries in the world (we have the *best* earthquakes, fite me Japan). My line of work is computers, mostly, providing backend services and logistics for a local company that serves some service brackets such as smol neighbour stores, storage centers, fiscal processors and automotive servicing centers.
While I do programming, I avoid doing it at work if possible; when done corporate is a horrible, thankless job.
Now, as for Pokémon... I've liked the games since I started playing in 1999. Ran an underground battle ring for RBY back then. Kinda sorta left the franchise during the early 2000s because I was busy with life but now I'm back baby! Now I'm more of a fan, though that does has waned somewhat as of recently due to the progression of the series since G7.
I'm a writer, I write fanfic... admittedly I guess I'm more a worldbuilder since I have about 11x times the material written for worldbuilding than I have published or drafted work. In general I like worldbuilding for Pokémon and a few other franchises such as Assassins Creed and Metroid, and I've recently grown to appreciate Kirby and Monster Hunter. I've published Pokémon since about 2009 and tend to be a regular at PokéCommunity and now at AO3, I love how easy those two sites make publishing.
Some of my published work includes "Playfield", "Built for Risk" and "Simpler than Magic", all written as contest entries. My entire line of work is currently linked together as a personal setting, "The Suocéverse", my personal interpretation of how Pokémon should be, and for which I maintain an official wiki. While I write mostly what just comes to mind (and manages to grow well as an idea) I can do Pokémon-centric, PMD or original flavour without issue. I also love worldbuilding, in case my comment above didn't make it obvious.
Anyway, nice to meet you all. I'm reading some of your stuff and do am coming up with some questions. It does spring to the front of my attention that quite an amount of you have found your inspiration or built up an avenue of working with Nuzlockes, a part of the fandom I admittedly have not delved into. Oh and nifty to find you here too, Vray and Bay.

Eh, why not. Greetings! I'm SparklingEspeon, but most people call me 'Espy' or some variant of espeon. I hail from the literally blazing hot lands of California (and also know nothing of this magical concept called "winter"), and am currently studying to choose a degree that'll probably take ten years to get but is going to look very good on most applications so I can't complain I guess? I've been a pokemon fan for about four - five years, ever since the pokemon anime was randomly screened in the same room I was. Writing I'd been doing for a bit longer than that, but when I found out that not only can you mesh writing and pokemon together, there were almost a million stories on FFN devoted just to pokemon? I was like "sign me up." My current project is Do Psychic-Type Pokemon Dream of Electric Sheep?, an AU take on Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon focusing on a side character and also a deconstruction/character study of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon lore in general, but I have a few other projects I've been looking to get into next. Pocket Monsters spawned from the question "But what if I made the pokemon movies??" and mimics what a legit serious TV show adapting the pokemon core games would look like, and Crashing Fate is a JoJo-esque anthology about legendary pokemon and their many, many screwups. I've also been looking to do some stuff with Detective Looker, because crime/mystery novels are Cool and Looker needs more attention than he gets ;-; Looking forward to reading more of the stories on here, and of course getting to know you all better! Oh, and can't really help you with finding Hermione Granger, but you could try the Divination tower.
