This is an Extravaganza piece for Vragon, based on prompts one and four: Sunset and A strange state of mind

Storm Brewing
The streets were starting to empty of the bustling as the shops in the centre of town started to close. A swift swipe of the ‘Open’ sign hanging on each door almost occurred sequentially to reveal a message that often just stated the words ‘Sorry, we are closed.’
Storm clouds started to brew overhead, as they coated over most of the sky with a dark, freezing blanket. The summer had been painfully hot this year, and the winter not much nicer, as darkness descended.
Atop the diner, Vragon sat with his arms stretched up in the air, watching as the soft orange faded into nothingness once more. Sunsets and sunrises seemed to reflect positively upon his mood, leaving a smile on his face. He slumped onto his back, minding his Fraxure tail as he did, and stared up at the black clouds, which swarmed the sky. He scratched his stomach as he watched the tiny water droplets start to descend.
Inside he could hear Ciecro, Jaron, Dolly and Jasmine calling him. With a sigh, he rolled up onto his feet and shuffled inside.
“Watching the sunset again?” Jaron poked, with a large Croconaw smile.
“Yeah, they make me feel good and all,” Vragon replied, sitting down at the table near the window. His eyes beamed out, looking at the speckles of rain that danced across the window.
“Do you think that one day a special kind of sunset will happen? Like the sunset on all this crap with the red-eyes?” Jaron asked, quizzically.
“I dunno, but I hope so. What with all they have done and all,” Vragon sighed, “It was nice of whoever Dolly persuaded to let us stay here to do so. I really don’t fancy it out there, and well, I doubt Ciecro does either.”
“Yeah, he hates getting his tail wet. You know what my brother is like,” Jaron’s grin faded as he looked out the window too, “Do you think they are out there?”
“Who?” Vragon asked.
“The red-eyes who killed those we love. Do you think they are still out there… somewhere?” Jaron’s voice turned cold and serious.
“I suppose it’s possible,” Vragon sighed, “I wonder what they truly want sometimes. I can’t remember much about my past still. It is
all a blur to me.”
“Time to wipe your eyes then,” Dolly chipped in, but was met with two sour faces.
‘If any time wasn’t the time to drop a joke like that… it’s now,’ Vragon thought, as he looked up to the moon.
“Don’t worry about it Vray, it will be fine,” Jaron said, ignoring Dolly, and coming to sit beside him, “Big storm, huh?” He added, watching the lightning dart down and strike the street over the burnt orange sunset.
“It seems to be that way. I am glad we aren’t out in that. Fancy a game of chess while we wait out the storm? I don’t fancy trying to sleep through it,” Vragon raised his voice a little to be heard over the bellowing thunder.
“Sure, set up the boar-” Jaron was cut off, “Vray, listen… did you hear that?”
“Yeah… I did, but what was it?” Vragon shot up.
“I dunno,” Jaron replied, “Dolly what do you think? Dolly?” He looked around quickly, “Dolly?”
“Come on Dolly, not a good time,” Vragon added, “Dolly?” They both quickly realised it wasn’t a joke, something strange was definitely going on around them, “This really isn’t like Dolly… she may have bad jokes but she wouldn’t ever do this to us, right Jaron?” He turned to speak to Jaron, “Jaron?” He looked at the nothingness all around him, as a shiver fell down his spine.
Before he could call out to his friend again his head pulsed creating an obnoxious headache, and a large shadow grew around him. It stepped forward and lunged at him. With a loud roar it side swiped him into what felt to be a wall.
Vragon flinched.
He opened his eyes.
He lay belly up on the roof once more, as the sunset started to fall and the clouds surrounded the sky once more.
“Watching the sunset again?” Jaron approached with a large Croconaw smile. Rather than replying, Vragon curled up and held his head.
‘What was that? What happened? Is this even real? What is real?’ he thought to himself, as the headache continued to pulse inside his head.
