Prologue - The Damned
Date | Time | Remarks |
Wednesday, July 18th, 1637. | 11.35 | Sailing towards the east coast of the known world. It is expected that the winds and currents will slow soon. The slaves seem quiet. Nothing of else of note. |
12.15 | The wind from the east has started to cause some problems. The main sail has been damaged and soon we may have to consider docking at a known port. Until such a time, temporary patches have been placed on the sail. Some of the slaves on the upper deck, who have been assisting in the cleaning while we continue to repair the damage, have claimed to see a large sea beast under the water. Under questioning they do not describe the legendary sea-serpents from the stories. It is safe to assume that we may been to be put under quarantine for the madness of these slaves if it continues to spread, may God have mercy on our souls, and profits. Nothing else of note.
12.23 | The ship has been hit underneath the stern side, little damage has been recorded. Nothing else of note.
14.07 | Damage from the hit earlier, from creatures unknown, has started to come to fruition. There is a sizable dent in the wooden hull starting to form. Although it has temporarily been blocked it is impossible to tell how long for. Nothing else of note.
18.17 | Captain Van Douce fell overboard. This log is now being recorded by Deck Cadet Van Coug. So many men have fallen overboard with every jolt. There is something under the ship. It is natural to say I am very frightened. End.
Thursday, July 19th, 1637. | 06.42 | The ship’s underbelly was rammed into again by the creature. It is large, around fifty feet. It is easy to see coming since it is a bright blue and has a clean white underbelly itself. The slaves are now assisting me to steer the ship in return for their freedom. End. |
09.18 | This ship is now under the control of a slave called Acodo. I am writing this log under threat of death. End.
12.32 | Acodo is dead. All the other slaves are dead except for me and Orag. The creature devoured them all and we just hit something hard in the east. The front of the ship is torn and we are going to die. I know we are. Orag says he can see land up ahead. I only hope he is telling the truth. End.
20.56 | We have made camp on the beach. The ship is over turned and damaged badly. We have done our best to salvage supplies. Orag has patched my wounds up and I have his. I guess when it really comes down to it we aren’t different at all. We are both human beings in this mess. These creatures keep chasing after us. Some are blasting fire at us and others are shooting scalding hot water. I really don’t know what to do. Are we alone here? Who would really call this place home? End.
Friday, July 20th, 1637. | 07.15 | Orag claims he has found a town, it is around six hours walk from where we are. I didn’t realise he had left me alone last night… however, if we have found people we may be saved. End. |
